An Interview With Derek Jeter.

So this is my first interview for my blog. I sat down with Derek Saturday via phone. I asked a few questions of the veteran champion shortstop, here's what he had to say:

Me: So Derek, how are you doing today? Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to stop by and do this.

Derek Jeter: Oh no problem, I'm doing good thanks.

Me: So lets get right to it, what are the Yankee's chances this year?

DJ: When you play for a club like the Yankees you've got more than a chance every year in and year out.

Me: (Laughs) Yeah you've won what? Like 5 world series rings?

DJ: (Laughs) Make it 6 after last year. (Laughs)

Me: Okay, lets switch to something more serious, you've made it clear you want to remain a Yankee forever, what are the chances you resign next year, and what would that contract look like for you. Now lets keep in mind, you are an aging 15 year old veteran losing range, but also with that age comes leadership too.

DJ: Well, first off I appreciate the honesty, you've got some pretty hard hitting questions. Now as for my answer, I think there is a good chance I resign, I'm looking to ask for something like 10 years 200 million. Now I won't get that, but you start high in negotiations, it'll probably end up around six years 120 million.

Me: Well, hopefully that works out. You are set to star in an upcoming movie according to your IMDB profile, can you tell me about that?

DJ: Yes I got a phone call from a director and he said he was making a comedy about cops and wanted me to be in it.

Me: (Laughs) That'll be interesting.

DJ: (Laughs) I know right?

Me: Now switching to more serious topics, Damon and Matsui have been replaces by Curtis Granderson, how is that going to work?

DJ: Well that's alot to lose, but watching Curtis swing the bat this spring shows me he's going to have a monster year. Those two's presence will be missed, but production will remain the same if not better.

Me: Wow, alot of confidence for an aging shortstop coming off a career year.

DJ: Wow, you do ask the hard hitting questions don't you? (Laughs)

Me: I just call 'em like I see 'em Derek (Laughs), thanks for your time.

DJ: Oh it's been a pleasure and keep up the good work!

Me: Alright goodbye and good luck this year.

DJ: Thanks, Bye.
